Uncle Tom's Scavenger Hunt

This Uncle Tom game is entitled Justice and is based upon trading cards or “families” with the winner of the game being the holder of (Uncle Tom, Little Eva, and Justice). The evil character Legree and the Justice card are the “Trump’s” so to speak in the game; the directions for play are presented below.


The game is based upon the ills of slavery and in order towin the game...Justice must be served. I am sure that anyone could have found the game to be an entertaining one but it definitely embraces the injustices of the slave trade. This is obvious seeing as the winner of the game holds the valiant and sweet characters, Uncle Tom and Little Eva and of course Justice. This game was introduced during the active years of the slave trade but also at a time when more and more people were recognizing the injustice of the institution. This game would most likely appeal to abolitionists or anyone that felt that slavery was not a "just institution"!

My First Post and Introduction


This picture is of girls weekend in Charlotte; please try to overlook the martini's and such....but it was girl's weekend! The girl in the middle is me and the girls on either side are great childhood friends of mine.
Hello Everyone!!!!!

My name is Catherine Ladd and I am working towards finishing my second bachelors degree this semester and am crossing my fingers that it will lead to graduate school. I am married and live a bit north of Greensboro. I am attending traditional classes at UNCG along with my online classes.


This looks like its going to be a very interesting class and I am looking forward to the readings and getting to know you all. Good luck with the class work and I cant wait to read everyone's posts.
